Club Director Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley Moline, IL Job Details Full-time $45,000 a year 10 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Operations management Collaboration Team development Driver's License Team management Attention to detail Organizational skills Van driving Full Job Description Primary Function Directs/manages overall daily operations of the Club with primary concern being maintaining the Club's ADA/ADP (average daily attendance/participation), supervision and training of staff, service delivery, facilities management and committed to providing programs focused on the Boys and Girls Clubs' five key elements for positive youth development, including Leadership & Service; Education/STEM; Health & Wellness; the Arts; and Sports & Recreation for a specific grade/age level. Job Responsibilities - Including, but not limited to Prepare Youth for Success
  • Ensure there are effective programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and that create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes o Support organizational goals and mission through program delivery and team participation with staff and volunteers.
o Oversee day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals. o Encourage members to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and give instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas. o Administer annually, BGCA's NYOI member survey to gain data needed to set goals to ensure members feel safe, recognized, supported, having transformative experiences, and fun while at Club. Develop a process to identify and document areas of improvement and demonstrate improvement every quarter. Provide oversight and enforce quarterly parent/caregiver surveys. Provide oversight and enforce quarterly pulse checks with members. Develop a process to identify and document areas of improvement and demonstrate improvement every quarter. o Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.
  • Ensure a productive work environment by organizing and facilitating monthly staff meetings, support staff with behavior management of members, and bridging the communication between the organization and Club staff.
  • Monitor program and building supplies, communicating with Director of Operations to ensure the purchase/order of necessary supplies. Program Development and Implementation
  • Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests.
  • Participate actively in trainings that promote understanding of standards of program philosophy and delivery.
  • Ensure programing activities align with BGCA's five key elements for positive youth development.
  • Create industry-leading programs.
  • Supervise the planning, organizing, staffing, and facilitation of required Club Teen Nights and Club special occasions.
  • Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, participation, and other necessary information for grants.
  • Responsible for implementation of all grant/funding requirements and required certifications.
  • Responsible for recruitment, retention, and engagement of Club members. Supervision & Safety
  • Create a positive Club environment by engaging members in activities that meet their needs, are developmentally appropriate, and engaging.
  • Ensure the safety of all members by following organizational protocols and standards. Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plans.
  • Create industry-leading programs, staff development, and establish a trauma informed Club environment.
  • Collaborate with Club staff to manage and improve member behavior, through a DEI lens and by ensuring an environment of safety, acceptance, and empowerment.
  • Ensure DEI Strategies and recommendations are being implemented in the Club.
  • Guarantee annual safety assessment recommendations are followed.
  • Provide coverage for Youth Development Professionals when necessary. Relationships
Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisors to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
    External:
    Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, members' parents/guardians, and others to assist in resolving problems, provide necessary support and provide experiences for Club members. Additional Responsibilities
    • Data Entry
    • Participate in special programs and/or events.
    • Attend organization and community meetings when required.
    • Consult with parents/guardians and direct supervisor concerning member attendance, behavior, opportunities, etc.
    • Must be qualified to be a van driver.
    • Maintain cleanliness of facility by checking areas after use and require members and staff to clean areas after use.
    • Complete training as scheduled.
    • Collaborate with staff and Director of Operations to ensure the building follows all necessary certifications. Skills/Knowledge Required
    • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university.
    • AND/OR equivalent experience in working with children and knowledge of youth development.
    • Ability to plan and implement quality programming for youth.
    • Ability to motivate and manage staff.
    • Ability to organize and supervise Club members in a safe environment.
    • Valid state driver's license and safe driving record. Specific Competencies
    • Must have high, positive energy level to encourage and engage youth in activities, maintain constant flow of activities, and support staff in programmatic needs.
    • Must have good planning and organizational skills and be detail oriented.
    • Ability to interact with the members, staff, and public in a friendly, professional manner.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Must have effective communication skills. Physical Requirements/Work Environment
    • Ability to perform broad-ranging physical responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted setting.
    • Ability to utilize and generate a wide variety of written, digital technical, verbal, and multi-media information for Club program purposes.
    • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
    Reliable Transportation Pay:
    $45,000.00 per year
