Job Description

STEPS Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services Position Title:
Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services Coordinator Status:
Full-Time / Salary General Description Under the direction of the Vice President of Empowerment Services and in collaboration with the Director of Shelter Operations, the Services Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and operational procedures for victim services in our domestic violence/sexual assault services program. The Service Coordinator's responsibilities are divided into four major categories: A. Victim Services B. Planning/Program Development C. Managing D. Volunteer Coordination Minimum Qualifications B.A. or B.S. degree in human services field preferred and/or extensive experience in the human services or domestic violence and sexual assault field. Should have domestic violence/sexual assault services project and program development experience, an understanding of grant writing, and staff supervision experience. Must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be experienced with data entry. Job Responsibilities Victim Services Provide direct assistance to victims of domestic violence/sexual assault. Respond to all requests for services for both child and adult victims of domestic violence/sexual assault. Communicate regularly with other agencies to connect victims to the services they need in a timely manner. Provide hot-line services. Participate in monthly emergency room accompaniment on-call calendar. Work collaboratively with the Director of Shelter Operations to ensure and provide coverage of our 24/7 Madeline's House shelter which includes after regular business hours if needed. Planning/Program Implementation Assist staff members in program and project development/planning. Assist the Vice President of Empowerment Services in development, monitoring, and effectiveness of program goals, objectives, and services. Oversee the emergency room accompaniment services delivery for forensic examinations of sexual assault and domestic violence victims. Collaborate with law enforcement, Commonwealth's Attorneys, and Victim Witness staff to oversee victim court advocacy and accompaniment services to any meetings regarding criminal and civil actions. Submit grant funding applications and manage approved grants to include service monitoring and required funder reporting. Active participation in community outreach events including local festivals, speaking engagements, and other activities to increase community support for the DV/SA program. Managing Provide training, guidance, and oversight to all Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services staff, interns, and volunteers. Supervise full-time case managers and domestic violence/sexual assault advocates. Ensure staff and volunteers provide clients with effective support, information, and referrals. Ensure appropriate, individualized service plans are implemented and maintained for each client. Ensure clients' files are complete, current, accurate and meet the requirements of all monitoring agencies. Assist the Vice President of Empowerment Services and Director of Shelter Operations in preparing for monitoring visits. Assist with recognition of staff and volunteer achievements and efforts. Keep the Vice President of Empowerment Services and Director of Shelter Operations informed of agency progress and problematic issues. Co-facilitate staff meetings. Enter client data in an accurate and timely manner as well as providing any required monthly data and data supervision. Complete projects in a timely manner. Ensure collection and custody of fundraising proceeds when applicable. Volunteer Coordination Recruit volunteers from recruitment events, media, and referrals. Interview potential volunteers and interns and complete required documentation, including background check release and drug screening. Conduct at least 4 volunteer training sessions annually for new and veteran volunteers. Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Vice President of Empowerment Services.

Knowledge of conflict resolutions strategies. 4. Knowledge of financial counseling and related subjects. 5. Knowledge of basic housing counseling skills and techniques. 6. Knowledge of diversion and targeted prevention procedures. 7. Knowledge on the use of personal computers and standard office software. 8. Effective oral and written communication skills. 9. Ability to accurately track and report data. 10. Ability to maintain meticulous and up-to-date case files. 11. Ability to correctly assess situations within scope of responsibility and make sound judgments with regard to existing laws, policies, and regulations. 12. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies and programs. 13. Ability to plan daily activities to achieve identified goals. 14. Ability to independently solve problems and provide guidance to other team members.

Pay:
$21.00 - $23.50 per hour
