Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Housing Navigator and become a vital catalyst in connecting individuals and families to safe, stable, and affordable housing options. In this dynamic role, you will serve as a compassionate guide, leveraging your expertise to assist clients in overcoming housing barriers, navigating complex systems, and securing sustainable living arrangements. Your proactive approach will empower vulnerable populations, ensuring they receive the support and resources needed to thrive. Responsibilities Assist clients in identifying suitable housing options by providing personalized guidance based on their needs and eligibility. Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies to negotiate lease agreements and resolve issues related to tenancy. Educate clients on Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 voucher programs, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) properties, and landlord-tenant laws to promote informed decision-making. Conduct crisis intervention when clients face urgent housing threats or personal crises, utilizing crisis management techniques and motivational interviewing strategies. Maintain accurate records of client interactions using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards. Advocate for clients during disputes or legal proceedings related to housing rights and responsibilities. Provide supportive services including addiction counseling referrals, social work support, and guidance on navigating Section 8 programs. Skills Strong knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 voucher systems, landlord-tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations. Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate agreements between clients and landlords or property managers. Proven ability in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to support clients facing urgent housing or personal crises. Experience with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite for recordkeeping and case tracking. Effective communication skills rooted in motivational interviewing and social work principles to motivate clients toward sustainable housing solutions. Familiarity with addiction counseling principles to support clients facing substance use challenges impacting housing stability. Ability to navigate complex legal frameworks related to housing rights while maintaining a compassionate approach. Pay:
$25.21 - $33.36 per hour
