Part-time Nonprofit Dog Rescue Volunteer Coordinator/Social Media Manager Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue - 1.0 West Hollywood, CA Job Details Part-time $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Volunteer coordination for social programs Google Docs Volunteer management Phone communication Spreadsheets Social media platforms Volunteer coordination program management Dog handling Nonprofit community organization experience Volunteer coordination Computer skills Nonprofit industry grant writing Non-profit experience Google Calendar Office phone management Full Job Description Part-time Dog Rescue Volunteer Coordinator and Social Media Manager Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is looking to add a part-time employee to handle social media, volunteer coordination, and grant writing for our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Laurel Canyon. At Ace of Hearts, we are dedicated to stepping in to rescue dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds and prevent euthanasia by finding them stable and loving homes.
Important information about the position:
This is a part-time position ~25-30/hrs per week
Schedule:
Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from ~11am-5pm on non-adoption weeks, and Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays ~11am-5pm & Saturdays ~10am-7pm on adoption weeks. This is an in-office job (NOT remote) located in Laurel Canyon All of our dogs are fostered, and we don't have a dedicated shelter facility- you will work from the office in Laurel Canyon and from the adoption event locations on Saturdays.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting, scheduling and coordinating relationships with volunteers Managing social media efforts Grant writing to secure funding Organizing volunteers for dog adoptions and other tasks Developing outreach programs Must regularly be able to lift 35lbs Other responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
Experience working with dogs in a professional setting MUST love dogs--all breeds and sizes--and be passionate about the cause! Must have non-profit grant writing experience Experience managing/coordinating volunteers Hands-on, proactive, able to show initiative Excellent phone demeanor and ability to handle multiple callers at once Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Google docs/calendar Good knowledge of social media for outreach and communication Must have continual access to a cell phone, laptop computer and must have a vehicle Must be comfortable answering an on-call cell phone for emergencies after hours Must be comfortable checking and responding to emails on Tues, Thurs, and Sun (up to an hour of time)
Compensation:
$30/hr ~20-25hrs per week anticipated
Schedule:
Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 11am-5pm on non-adoption weeks, and Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 11am-5pm & Saturdays 10am-7pm on adoption weeks. Please note that this role will require weekend work about twice a month (Saturdays on adoption event weekends)
Pay:
$30.00 per hour Application Question(s): Please briefly explain your interest and/or history working/volunteering with animals in a professional setting (nonprofit, rescue, shelter, groomer, pet store, vet, etc) This is a part-time position requiring 3-4 days per week in office and on-site at adoption events. This will include weekend days at least 2x per month. Can you commit to this need?
