JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Housing Coordinator will join Turning Point Housing Department. The Housing Coordinator is responsible for the proper administration and oversight of, Turning Point Reentry house for women who are transitioning back from prisons and jails.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
➢ Communication The Housing Coordinator conducts regular meetings with the residents to facilitate problem-solving and to improve communication among the residents where needed. This may include problem-solving individually or with the group. ➢ Coordination The Housing Coordinator may serve as a bridge between the residents and other Turning Point staff, as residents conflict arise, or as staff identifies resident issues or opportunities, the Housing Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate transmitting of information so that all residents and staff are aware of the status of the house and the women that reside in the residence. The Housing Coordinator will work closely with Turning Point staff to recommend needed referrals. ➢ Intake The Housing Coordinator interviews the incoming resident to determine their needs and develops a written assessment, which is then shared with the Housing Staff. This assessment will include documents that the resident needs to secure public assistance, social services, or employment/training needs. The assessment will include any requirements to reunite with their children. Accurate intake records and updates to intake records on the status of each resident must be always maintained. ➢ Other duties as assigned. ➢ Supervision The Housing Coordinator provides high-quality supervision of Turning Point reentry house, including ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents, replenishment of supplies (cleaning, food), and emergency preparedness. All residents of the house are to be monitored to ensure they are drug and alcohol-free. Qualifications ➢ Understanding of the population to be served and knowledge of the recovery process. ➢ Competent in Word, Excel, and data systems. ➢ Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills. ➢ Vehicle and auto insurance coverage, and a valid California Driver's license. ➢ Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. ➢ Strong verbal and communication skills. ➢ Strong conflict resolution skills including de-escalation skills. ➢ Strong case management and documentation skills. ➢ At least 2 years of similar experience.Job Type:
