ANSWER THE CALL
Join the Roseville Police Department in the role of Police Social Services Practitioner. The Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the Regular and Full-time position of Police Social Services Practitioner I/II in the Roseville Police Department. We are looking for a results-driven Social Services Practitioner experienced in operating within local government frameworks and policing environments. Proficient in risk assessment, case management, and safeguarding, with a proven ability to align interventions with public policy goals while supporting vulnerable individuals in high-pressure situations.DEFINITION
To perform a variety of duties related to social services and counseling programs/operations within the Police Department.Background Investigation :
Candidates who have successfully completed all prior phases of the selection process will be subject to a thorough background investigation. The investigation is used to determine a candidate's moral character and suitability for employment in law enforcement. The investigation shall include, but is not limited to, the following checks: criminal record, polygraph, driving history, credit history, military record, previous employer(s), and references. Police Social Services Practitioner I - This is the entry level class in the Police Social Services Practitioner series. This class is distinguished from the journey level by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters allocated to the journey level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience. Employees work under general supervision while learning job tasks. Police Social Services Practitioner II - This is the journey level class within the Police Social Services Practitioner series and is distinguished from the I level by the assignment of the full range of duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

No experience is required.AND Training :
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field. AND License or Certificate Possession of a valid California driver's license by date of appointment. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certificates within first 12 months of employment.Police Social Services Practitioner II Experience :
Two years post graduate experience working in the social work or counseling field with strong emphasis on social services, resources and referrals using a collaborative and community framework.AND Training :
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field. AND License or Certificate Possession of a valid California driver's license by date of appointment. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certificates within first 12 months of employment. Possession of a valid professional mental health therapy license issued by the State of California, such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Associate Social Worker License (ASW), Intern Marriage Family Therapist (IMFT) or Clinical Psychologist is preferred. Applicants who do not provide verification, will be eliminated from further consideration.SELECTION PROCESS
: All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a Formula Rate Examination. The applicant's experience and education will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula. Scores from this evaluation will determine applicant ranking and placement on the Employment List. Supplemental questions will be utilized by the department hiring authority to make interview and selection determinations.
