Job Description

MISSION STATEMENT
To provide quality, balanced services promoting the development of successful, responsible, productive, and accountable citizens. To forever touch the life of each person served by fulfilling the cultural, social, emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual needs in a caring and supportive environment. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to serve as a House Parent in our residential facility. As a House Parent, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for individuals under your care. This position is ideal for individuals with a genuine passion for providing guidance, mentorship, and structure to those in need.
Responsibilities:
Provide Emotional Support:
Foster a caring and supportive atmosphere for residents, creating a sense of safety and trust. Act as a mentor and role model, offering emotional support and encouragement.
Daily Care and Supervision:
Oversee daily routines, including meals, chores, and recreational activities. Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of residents through regular check-ins and communication.
Implement Rules and Structure:
Enforce and uphold established rules and guidelines within the residential setting. Foster a structured and disciplined environment while promoting independence and responsibility. Collaborate with
Staff:
Work closely with other house parents, staff members, and professionals to coordinate care plans. Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and relevant updates.
Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with residents, their families, and external stakeholders. Document and report any significant changes, incidents, or observations regarding residents' behavior and well-being.
Crisis Management:
Be prepared to handle crises calmly and effectively, following established protocols. Provide support and guidance to residents during challenging situations.
Promote Life Skills Development:
Encourage the development of life skills such as budgeting, time management, and self-care. Support residents in setting and achieving personal goals. Maintain a
Safe and Clean Environment:
Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the residential space. Address maintenance issues promptly and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in social work, counseling, or related fields are advantageous. Previous experience working with youth, vulnerable populations, or in a residential setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Understanding of trauma-informed care and the unique needs of individuals in a residential setting.
