Job Description

SUMMARY:
Housing Navigator develops relationships with property owners, rental agents and other housing providers throughout Miami-Dade County for acquiring available housing for Chapman Partnership's clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a workable knowledge of available units within the county. Create an inventory of housing units available for rent and accessible to residents with varying backgrounds. Internally advertise housing opportunities for clients and Program Services staff in order to accomplish successful housing placements. Revise, Review and improve delivery of service to our clients. Performs other assignments or tasks as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
G.E.D or High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience as a case manager in a social services agency or equivalent, or, a minimum of one (1) year practical experience working with permanent housing providers and experience with the housing and rental market in Dade County. Housing Quality Standard (HQS) Certification preferred. Valid driver license (State of Florida), adequate level of car insurance as required by law and clean driving record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to coordinate activities and meet deadlines. Ability to empower and support residents in life choices and change. Experience working with vulnerable populations. Ability to be professional, flexible, respectful, and calm. Ability to work well with others. Ability to lead by example. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Computer Literate. Solid social service management skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred.
