Job Description

Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Coordinator to join our Hospice of Marion County team in Ocala, FL. The Volunteer Coordinator has primary responsibility for recruiting, training, placing, supervising and supporting volunteers and for meeting the volunteer needs of patients, families and the organization. This volunteer coordinator will also work with our Veterans Program. Expand the organization's volunteer program, including the recruitment, training, placement, supervision and support of volunteers, in collaboration with the Manager of Volunteer Services. Educate, monitor and ensure that volunteer practice is in compliance with organization's policies and procedures, and upholds compliance standards. Ensures compliance with regulatory and certifying bodies (Medicare, AHCA, Joint Commission) within team. Within the IDG, promote volunteer involvement, generate volunteer requests, complete required documentation and communicate with team the outcome of the request in verbal or written report. Demonstrate teaching/training skills appropriate for all levels of learners. Facilitate volunteer training classes. Plan and host volunteer appreciation and support activities. Evening or weekend hours may be required. Other duties as required by supervisor or department as the volunteer program grows and changes.

Experience:
4 year college degree preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as a volunteer coordinator preferred. Intermediate computer skills required, experience with Volgistics and EMR software preferred. Organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks required. Public speaking/presentation/training facilitation experience preferred. Internal and external customer service oriented. Previous experience in a health care or non-profit agency preferred. Must have reliable transportation to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance, a copy will be placed in their employee file.
