Houseparent St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) | Providing Healing, Hope, and Home St.Augustine, FL Total Annual Compensation Potential:
$49,300 - $50,400 Includes base pay, flex sleep time, and bonus opportunities. $1,000 Sign-On Bonus ($500 paid at 90 days; $500 paid at 1 year)Schedule & Position Details Weekday Shift:
Monday at 9:30am - Thursday at 8:00pm Private Bedroom/Bathroom Suite Provided During Shift Sleeping on campus is required while on duty Both Single and Couple Houseparent Positions Available Additional Perks & Benefits Housing, Meals & Transportation Provided During Shifts Two Weeks Personal Time Off (PTO)Employer Healthcare Contribution:

St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) is looking for a dedicated Houseparent to help create a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children and teens with behavioral and mental health challenges. SAYS serves children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, abuse, or mental health issues. Our therapeutic residential programs are designed to give these youth structure, care, and the chance to thrive in a safe, home-like setting.Position Overview:
As a Houseparent , you'll be the heart of the home—providing daily supervision, emotional support, and essential life skills to children in care. You'll help maintain a consistent routine, model healthy behavior, and ensure each child's physical and emotional needs are met.Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision and positive behavior management to youth in a residential setting. Be a consistent role model and mentor , teaching life skills and promoting accountability. Offer crisis intervention and, when necessary, utilize approved physical restraint techniques to ensure safety. Plan and conduct group discussions and recreational activities that support social and emotional development. Maintain accurate documentation of daily events, behavior, and interventions per agency protocols. Attend staff and treatment team meetings , contributing valuable insight to each child's care plan. Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, food preparation , and creating a homelike environment. Oversee housekeeping tasks and support daily household operations (laundry, cleaning, organizing). Teach and reinforce personal hygiene habits and promote physical health. Manage and document medication administration and ensure availability of correct dosages. Coordinate and provide transportation to medical appointments, school, and activities based on treatment plans. Participate in fundraising efforts and assist with community outreach as needed. Support new client intakes and orientation processes. Follow all organizational policies and procedures , maintain required trainings, and promote agency values. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Two (2) years of experience working with youth with mental/behavioral health needs (preferably in a residential setting) OR a Bachelor's degree in a related mental health field Valid Driver's License Background history free of offenses listed on the Affidavit of Good Moral Character Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to provide consistent structure and appropriate discipline Ability to create and maintain a safe, supportive, and home-like environment Why Join Us Meaningful, mission-driven work Supportive team environment Opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of youth Apply today if you're ready to make a difference—one weekend at a time.
