Job Description

POSITION STARTS MONDAY, AUGUST 10TH.
This is a part-time position that requires availability between the hours of 2 - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (1 - 6 p.m. on Fridays) and availability of 40 hours between 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating all programs and activities in their assigned program area. The Sebastian Club has openings in the following program areas: Floater (rotates between program areas)
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee the administration of all BGC programs and activities that support the Youth Development Framework. Instill a sense of sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play in members as well as staff during programs and activities. Manage Room and ensure a productive environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes. Provide guidance and role modeling to members. Program Supervision Provide active supervision continually interacting with all members and providing motivation and encouragement. Discipline members fairly, consistently, and only according to established policies and procedures. Ensure a productive work environment by participating in staff meetings. Serve as a role model and mentor to members and peers. Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for members. Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare daily attendance reports. Additional Responsibilities May participate in special programs and/or events May be required to drive Club van Complete trainings as required May be required to help out in multiple areas as needed Clean area as needed at the end of day
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel. Skills/Knowledge Required High School diploma or GED Ability to multi-task Experience working with children Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems Ability to deal with the general public Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment Must be flexible and be able to work well with other team members Problem solving skills Must be CPR and First Aid Certified (we will provide training if needed) Physical Demands These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
