Full-time Position:

Emergency Services Specialist Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana's largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children—both uninsured and insured—integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.

Position Purpose:

The Emergency Services Specialist sits at the hub of a multifaceted Community Mental Health facility rated as a place of excellence by the state of Indiana. The ES Specialist have regular contact with Medical, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse providers and customers from within the Regional Health Systems as well as area providers. The Specialist engages clients and their families, or collateral supports, in a clinical interview, reports their findings, and may make recommendations to staff physicians, psychiatrists, and program supervisors. The ES Specialist will then coordinate treatment recommendations with a variety of clinical staff including psychologists, social workers and addictions therapists. The ES Specialist routinely interacts with police and EMS when managing risk within the community. The ability to work as part of an integrated team, remain calm under pressure, have a well-developed organization, be flexibility in both mind and behavior, have basic computer skills, and the ability to function as part of an integrated team across multiple locations are essential skills within this position. The Emergency Services Specialist acts as an immediate portal for acute and intensive services for individuals who are already receiving or requiring immediate intervention and to provide a means assessing acute mental health crisis by phone or in person

Requirements:

BA, BS in psychology, social work or related field. Two (2) years of experience in a similar position in a social service agency
