We have an opening for a Volunteer Coordinator to work Full Time. Lakeview's Volunteer Coordinator enhances the quality of life and the sense of community at Lakeview Village by providing assistance with volunteer management, public/community events, and various communication tools/resources designed for the community. Competitive pay Health, dental, and vision benefits Retirement plan with employer match Employee Assistance Program Fitness center and pool Job Duties and Responsibilities Maintains a program for "one-on-one" relationships between students and residents with a focus on the Care Center, and in the Independent Living community as needed. Coordinates campus-wide Chore Days and the Small Task Assistance program. Responsible for the Volunteer Recruitment Presentations at local schools and community events, where applicable. Coordinates special events connecting resident groups and student volunteers. Continually reviews, develops, coordinates, and maintains on-campus volunteer opportunities and recruitment methods for resident volunteers. Assists with the development of Resident Group guidelines. Acts as a liaison to assigned resident groups, ensuring their continued growth and success. Encourages the expansion of group contributions. Maintains the volunteer database in order to track Return on Investment, supply verification of volunteer hours for non-profit status purposes, and follow up on resident involvement and connectedness. Works closely with departments that utilize volunteers to maintain the proper use of guidelines and procedures specific to their area and ensure a positive experience for volunteers. Implements volunteer programming that integrates Lakeview Village and Ridgeview Village. Continues recruitment and the development of volunteers to teach a variety of computer classes at the Computer Learning Center; recruits for other educational courses as needed. Assists with the development of the Civic Engagement program to increase volunteer opportunities for staff and residents as needed. Assists with the production of high-quality, timely publications that support the community, including but not limited to: LakeViews and community newsletters. Maintains proper communication throughout the community using various sources, including but not limited to: Dial-a-Day, Easels, and bulletin boards. Serves as a back-up for the Receptionists and Shuttle Bus Drivers as needed. Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility, to ensure that departmental programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the facility and residents. Ensures that Residents' Rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to express grievances are followed. Must possess an Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience. Must have a minimum of two years of experience in the field of volunteer work or civic engagement. Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks appropriately, and exercise sound judgement where procedures cannot be standardized. Must be able to skillfully synthesize large quantities of complex information and distill it to the most critical issues, so that accurate conclusions may be drawn. Ability to work weekends or after hours when required for the position. Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly. Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
