Job Description

Agency Information:

Position Summary:
The Therapist is responsible for providing high quality direct clinical services to children and adults impacted by childhood physical, sexual abuse, neglect and other violent crimes, as well as their safe and supportive family members.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Provide high quality clinical services for appropriate participants.
Activities:
  • Receive referrals, complete phone screens, and intake and assessment appointments to determine eligibility for services
  • Design a case plan with treatment goals for each participant receiving individual counseling services and update progress regularly
  • Provide individual and/or family counseling services as determined by treatment plan.
  • Lead appropriate group-based services as requested by the Program Coordinator.
  • Adhere to the specified evidenced based practices as outlined by Family Nurturing Center
  • Inform participants about their right to victim compensation and assist them in filing as needed.
  • Make recommendations and assist in transition to group-based services when appropriate.
  • Provide referrals and assistance in accessing other appropriate community resources.
  • Provide ongoing review and updates to program curricula to maintain best practices.
  • Maintain contact with referring agency as needed, including the submission of attendance/progress reports as requested.
2. Maintain appropriate written documentation of programmatic and administrative aspects.
Activities:
  • Maintain accurate and complete participant records, including intake information, telephone contact with participants and/or other relevant parties, participant progress notes, pre and post testing, referrals, termination forms and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate program statistics and outcomes and submit to treatment director by stated deadlines.
3. Coordinate services with other appropriate social service agencies, law enforcement personnel and victims service providers and make referrals as necessary.
Activities:
  • Develop/maintain relationships with key partners.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of all referrals.
  • Provide information/testimony to the court as needed and in accordance with agency policies.
  • Serve as a representative on community collaboratives.
4. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Activities:
  • Participate in 12 hours of related training annually. (Dependent upon funding source and licensing body)
  • Participate in scheduled supervision with the designated clinical and administrative supervisor(s) 5.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in Social Work or related field with relevant clinical licensure. Two years direct experience with children and families in a therapeutic setting. Knowledge of child trauma, and child development. Thorough understanding of the child welfare and court system required. Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
