Louisville, KY Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Volunteer management Administrative experience Driver's License Project management Interviewing Computer skills Volunteer recruitment Full Job Description Job Summary The Volunteer Coordinator exemplifies strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills while overseeing and coordinating the volunteer program for the Louisville Urban League and as a member of the Louisville Urban League's Development Team. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement goals and objectives for the volunteer program that align with the organization's mission. Enhance the volunteer recruitment process for the Louisville Urban League (LUL) by identifying volunteer roles, jobs, and opportunities. Support the process for appropriately matching volunteers to opportunities. Maintain a Salesforce database of volunteers (and potential volunteers), including skill sets and volunteerism interest(s). Screen volunteers to ensure the safety and security of clients during League service and to maintain the highest quality of service. Make and maintain personal contact with interested individuals through face-to-face conversations, phone calls, texts, and/or email. Facilitate monthly volunteer orientation that includes the volunteer handbook, volunteer/supervisor expectations, and the LUL's processes and procedures. Coordinate annual public appreciation for LUL volunteers. Facilitate LUL community tabling engagements, quarterly LUL Community Days, and Urban League Sundays. Maintain and increase volunteer knowledge of LUL Pillars, programs, and services. Attend LUL staff meetings. Develop and coordinate positive community relationships with business partners, corporate supporters, community agencies and organizations, volunteers, funders, and community members to promote LUL volunteer opportunities, As a member of the Development Team, coordinate volunteers as needed for Louisville Urban League's Derby Gala, Annual Report Luncheon, and Scholarship Jazz Brunch. Maintain membership with KAVA(Kentuckiana Association for Volunteer Administration) Disseminate volunteer data for National Urban League reporting, LUL reporting, and grant proposals when needed. Coordinate volunteer projects for businesses related to grants and sponsorships for LUL programs. Develop and distribute monthly volunteer newsletter.Other Duties As Assigned :

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have demonstrable commitment to understanding and addressing issues of African Americans and other marginalized populations. Great organizational and time management skills are necessary. Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects and follow through with minimal direction, meeting timelines and deadlines. Must be able to balance administrative and volunteer coordination responsibilities. Attention to detail and project management skills are a must. Well organized and able to work with minimal supervision at a high level of effort. Exceptional interpersonal and administrative skills. Excellent oral communication and writing skills, including presentations, public speaking, written reports, and other documents. Ability to present information to a variety of audiences, including public groups, executive management, and/or the board of directors. Must be available evenings and weekends for programs and agency-related activities. Must have skills to use office technologies, including Google products, Salesforce, Dialpad, Canva, and Constant Contact. Flexibility to be able to quickly adapt and respond to changing situations Must occasionally be available evenings and weekends as a point of contact for community engagement or volunteer events. Willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Valid proof of fullCOVID-19
vaccination, preferred. Education and/or Experience Two or more years of experience in volunteer administration, community engagement, and volunteer recruitment. Must have strong interviewing skills and have a commitment to public interest work. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, controls, or equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
