If you are highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others, we invite you to join our team as a Peer Support Specialist! The Peer Support Specialist provides community-based recovery support services to Hampden County adults with co-occurring disorders who are chronically homeless. The role utilizes lived experience to promote recovery, independence, and engagement in treatment. This position supports individuals in accessing services, developing recovery plans, and building connections within the community to enhance overall wellness and stability.
What you will do:
Provides high-quality, community-based peer support services, including help with transportation Assists and empowers persons served to engage in recovery services. Conducts outreach to support treatment engagement. Facilitates participation in both MISSION Peer Support and Dual Recovery Therapy (DRT) groups. Supports development of wellness, safety, and treatment plans. Prepares individuals for meetings with providers and systems of care. Maintains a caseload of 12-15 individuals. Builds partnerships with community providers. Engages in trauma-informed approaches to care. Completes timely and accurate documentation.
Who you are:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Peer Specialist certification (or obtained within 6-12 months). Lived experience of addiction and recovery required. Knowledge of recovery principles and community resources. Strong interpersonal and basic computer skills. Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record required Access to a reliable vehicle
PAY:
$24.50 per hour
