$26.00 per hour
  • Position Overview ATHENA Consulting is sourcing qualified candidates for an assignment with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The selected candidate will be employed by SQN Systems and assigned to DHHS under a subcontracting partnership. All payroll, benefits, and employment-related matters will be administered by SQN Systems.
  • Position Summary The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a dedicated Human Services Specialist III to provide direct case management and support services for individuals involved in domestic abuse cases.
This role focuses on delivering management and coordination services for both survivors and perpetrators, ensuring compliance with program goals and facilitating access to community resources and interventions.
  • Key Responsibilities Intake / Assessment
  • Obtain client-specific information, including background, physical and psychological trauma, mental health and substance use concerns, and other needs or issues
  • Perform initial and follow-up assessments and determine program eligibility
  • Make referrals in both English and Spanish Case Management
  • Provide bilingual information, guidance, and assistance to clients by enrolling them in or linking them to available community resources, programs, services, and benefits
  • Collaborate with criminal justice providers
  • Attend case consultation meetings with internal and external providers to discuss service plans and outcomes Documentation & Coordination
  • Prepare, maintain, and accurately document case records
  • Prepare required reports
  • Provide comprehensive case management and follow-up services
  • Support both survivors and perpetrators using a trauma-informed and balanced approach
  • Work with court-ordered and mandated clients with professionalism and sensitivity
  • Manage service plans, documentation, and progress reports in compliance with program requirements
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners, including social service agencies, courts, and treatment providers
  • Demonstrate strong communication and de-escalation skills when working with resistant or high-conflict clients
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related field required; master's degree preferred
  • Experience working with court-mandated or high-risk client populations
  • Strong interpersonal and crisis management skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in challenging situations
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred
  • Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
  • Standard work hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m
  • 5:00 p.m. (evenings/weekends may be required)
  • Travel required
  • Compensation Hourly Rate:
    $24.00 per hour Payment is issued weekly through SQN Systems via direct deposit. Timekeeping is managed through SQN's payroll system, iSolved.
