Job Description
LINC Peer Support Center -
Augusta, Maine Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-4:30 PM (40 hours) Occasional flexibility based on center activities and community needs. A Program of Motivational Services Inc. (MoCo) The LINC Peer Support Center is a welcoming, community built space grounded in Intentional Peer Support, mutuality, shared learning, and authentic connection. Participants come to LINC for conversation, creativity, groups, support, advocacy, or simply a comfortable place to be in community. We are looking for a Full-Time Peer Support Specialist to build authentic relationships and support individuals in a welcoming, recovery-oriented peer support environment. This is a people centered role for someone who values authentic relationships, community connection, shared learning, and healthy boundaries in a peer support environment. What You'll Do Build authentic relationships through Intentional Peer Support and mutual connection Provide one-on-one and group peer support grounded in shared experience and shared learning Help create a welcoming, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented environment Support participant involvement, shared decision-making, and community engagement Assist with groups, activities, outreach efforts, and community events Support structured peer groups and recovery-oriented learning opportunities Assist participants in exploring community resources and supports when helpful Maintain healthy professional boundaries within a low-barrier, relationship-focused environment Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, mutuality, and restorative practices Complete documentation, communication, attendance tracking, and other responsibilities in a timely and organized manner Participate in supervision, team meetings, co-reflections, and ongoing peer support learning opportunities Qualifications Lived experience with mental health, co-occurring challenges, or other significant life experiences is required, along with a willingness to use that experience purposefully in a peer support role CIPSS certification preferred; non-certified applicants must obtain certification within the first year of employment Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to balance flexibility, structure, and healthy boundaries in a dynamic environment Experience in peer support, outreach, or community work preferred Comfortable working in a low-barrier setting with diverse needs and experiences Comfortable using basic computer systems, email, and documentation tools Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Interest in deaf culture and American Sign Language, helpful for interaction with possible deaf members of BHH agency and other organizations.Equal Opportunity Employer Pay:
