Job Description

Volunteer Coordinator/ Housing & Services Coordinator •This is a dual position
Hours:
35 hours per week, Additional hours as assigned by Executive Director on evenings, weekends, holidays for coverage and training.
Hourly pay range:
$35,310 - $47,300 with paid sick days, vacation time Duties and Specific tasks for volunteer
Coordinator:
Recruit and train volunteers. Be responsible for scheduling, supervising and covering volunteer hours. Keep required monthly records of volunteer hours. Assist with volunteer recognition and appreciation. Write and send monthly newsletters and calendars, provide in person crisis intervention. Write reports on all client interactions, be available by phone to volunteers who need assistance in performing their tasks, find shelter coverage for all volunteer shifts; attend staff meetings. Provide crisis line coverage. Provide community education. Provide supportive advocacy to victims of domestic/sexual violence and their children, provide individual support to residential, non-residential, and phone clients; advocate for clients in their contacts with other agencies, write reports of all client interactions and activities; maintain statistics as required by funding source; fulfill specific tasks specified in annual grant. Housing & Services Coordinator :
Responsible for coordinating housing placements, engaging and retaining landlords, supporting survivors through individualized housing plans, managing client assistance requests, and ensuring program compliance with all grant and agency requirements. The role requires strong collaboration with community partners, trauma-informed advocacy skills, and an ability to navigate complex housing systems. Provide case management to transitional supportive housing clients. Attend staff meetings as required. Provide daily maintenance tasks for the functioning of the shelter, assist residents with cleaning of the shelter to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents and their children. Perform tasks that are vital to maintaining a safe environment for residents and their children. Provide occasional coverage on other shifts for staff/volunteer shortages, evenings, holidays and weekends. Perform duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Program Coordination Case Management Serve as the primary contact for the TSH program and coordinate all client-related services. Develop and monitor individualized Housing Stability Plans in collaboration with advocates and clients. Oversee client assistance requests, ensuring they align with established goals and funding parameters. Track participant progress and conduct regular check-ins to reassess goals and needs. Landlord Engagement Recruit and retain local landlords willing to participate in the TSH program. Negotiate lease terms and sign leases on behalf of Domestic Harmony. Serve as a liaison between landlords and clients, resolving issues promptly and diplomatically. Ensure that housing units meet minimum safety, security, and confidentiality standards. Community Collaboration Maintain strong working relationships with Community Action Agency and other housing partners. Participate in Coordinated Entry and Local Planning Body meetings as appropriate. Refer clients to wraparound services including legal aid, employment programs, childcare, and transportation. Crisis Response & Safety Support staff and clients in implementing individualized safety plans. Follow emergency relocation protocols if a housing situation becomes unsafe. Work closely with advocates and law enforcement as needed to support client safety. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate, confidential records and complete all documentation required by funders and the agency. Monitor client files for compliance with grant requirements and internal policies. Assist with data collection and outcome reporting for program evaluation. Training & Supervision Provide support, coaching, and training to advocate staff involved in housing services. Stay informed about best practices in domestic violence, housing advocacy, and trauma-informed care.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, or a related field preferred or in the process of working towards bachelor's degree in appropriate field. Experience with domestic violence victims, sexual assault victims, working with children and parents; knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence; successful completion of required training. Ability to work well with children and adult survivors in a supportive, caring way. Proficient with data entry. Crisis intervention and advocacy experience. Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, fair housing standards, and local housing resources. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and balance multiple responsibilities. Commitment to confidentiality, equity, and survivor-centered advocacy. Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass all required background checks.
Pay:
$22.44 - $27.02 per hour
