Membership and Volunteer Coordinator Status:

Community Food Club:
The food club is a nonprofit grocery store where members find healthy options at affordable prices. It's an innovative approach to food security that prioritizes choice, participation and access to healthy foods. Members pay a low monthly fee, shop with points and choose from plenty of fresh, quality foods.

Member Lifecycle Management:
Oversees the entire member experience, from initial orientation and registration to ongoing retention and stewardship.
Volunteer Program Leadership:
Directs all volunteer functions, including matching organizational needs with volunteer skills to ensure smooth store and warehouse operations.
Policy Advocacy:
Acts as the internal expert and advocate for membership and volunteer policies, ensuring they are consistently applied by both staff and participants.
Operational Integration:
Collaborates with Food Club leadership to identify daily labor gaps and deploy volunteers effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Community Ambassador:
Promotes the store's mission at community events and volunteer fairs to attract new supporters.
Database Administrator:
Maintains precise records in volunteer and membership management systems, tracking hours, backgrounds, and impact data.
Trainer & Facilitator:
Leads mandatory orientations and safety trainings, ensuring all participants understand food handling and store safety protocols.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Develops marketing content for volunteer postings and leads new-member orientation sessions.
Scheduling:
Manages weekly shift calendars, finding replacements for cancellations and ensuring critical times (like delivery days) are covered.
Customer & Member Service:
Resolves grievances, processes member paperwork (IDs, proof of address), and triages inquiries via phone and email.
Financial & Impact Reporting:
Tracks member dues and volunteer hours to provide monthly reports on program growth and cost-savings to leadership.
Store Support:
Assists on the floor with cashiering, stocking, or warehouse tasks during peak volume periods or emergencies. All other duties assign by your supervisor.
Position Requirements:
Must be 18 or older
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
1+ years in volunteer coordination or member services, ideally in a retail or food-related nonprofit.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, database management, and excellent public speaking abilities.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for periods (up to 80% of the shift) and lift up to 40 lbs.
Compensation and Details:
This is a part-time, hourly position. We offer support for professional development and a driven, highly collaborative, supportive work environment.
Schedule:
Mainly afternoons and evenings with rotating Saturdays. Mornings could be possible on occation.
