Bemidji, Minnesota Evergreen Youth & Family Services is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth and families in Bemidji, MN, and the surrounding communities. We provide a range of comprehensive services aimed at supporting young people and their families to overcome challenges and thrive. We are seeking a self-motivated and organized Street Outreach Worker to join our team.

Full-Time / Non-Exempt (40 hours per week)POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Outreach Specialist supports Evergreen's efforts to identify and assist youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability. This position provides direct support to the Street Outreach Coordinator and assists with daily outreach operations, including organizing supplies, engaging with youth during street-based outreach, and helping with documentation and follow-up care. The Program Assistant works under the supervision of the Supportive Services Director but collaborates closely with the Outreach Coordinator to ensure services are effective, responsive, and youth-centered.RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Assist the Street Outreach Coordinator with preparation for and participation in community-based outreach efforts, including loading supplies and helping manage contact logs. 2. Engage with youth during outreach in a respectful and supportive manner, helping to distribute basic needs items (e.g., hygiene kits, food, clothing). 3. Direct outreach to local young people in need through Evergreen Drop-In coverage weekly. 4. Help track supply inventory and restock outreach kits in coordination with the program coordinators. 5. Support data collection by ensuring timely and accurate documentation in HMIS/Client track or other grant required systems. 6. Assist with follow-up support to youth met through outreach, including setting up appointments, completing referrals, and providing reminders or transportation (as appropriate). 7. Maintain positive relationships with partner agencies, schools, and community members to support effective outreach and referral processes. 8. Work flexible hours as needed to support outreach schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends. 9. Participate in team meetings, supervision with the Supportive Services Director, and trainings required by the agency or funders. 10. Report any safety concerns, incidents, or urgent needs to the Program Director. 11. Assist with Evergreen community events, resource fairs, and outreach campaigns as needed. 12. Help ensure that services are delivered in a respectful, non-judgmental, and professional manner to all youth and families served. 13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.QUALIFICATIONS
1. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. 2. High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary coursework in social services, youth work, or related field preferred. 3. Previous experience working with youth or vulnerable populations is preferred. 4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with youth in a compassionate and appropriate way. 5. Organized and able to maintain accurate records and follow through on tasks. 6. Comfortable working in the community in a variety of environments and conditions. 7. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. 8. Applicants must indicate support for Evergreen's mission and all agency programs. 9. Must be able to work as a team member. 10. Must have very strong written and oral communication skills. 11. Must be able to exercise initiative, work independently, meet deadlines, and have strong organizational skills. 12. Must have strong computer familiarity and experience with Word, Outlook, Excel, and online navigation. 13. Must have good interpersonal and telephone skills and work well with the public. 14. Must be a positive role model to staff, youth, families and the community. 15. Must maintain client, co-worker, and agency confidentiality and abide by HIPAA and the Data Privacy Act. 16. Must work cooperatively with county and tribal programs, school districts and other community service providers. 17. Must have reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license. If you use your own vehicle for your work-related transportation, must have current vehicle insurance. 18. Must be insurable on Evergreen Youth & Family Services' auto policy. 19. Must successfully pass a drug and/or alcohol test. 20. Must successfully pass a Minnesota DHS Applicant Background Study. Physical Demands Related toMaintenance Duties:
While performing maintenance duties, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in order to conduct building checks and make repairs. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This employee must be able to lift 35 pounds.COMPENSATION
