PURPOSE DRIVEN WORK
Mother's Refuge is comprised of an tight-knit staff team that is sure to provide you with some incredible coworkers. Through providing support for moms and their babies, you are sure to make a lasting impact!
WHO WE ARE
Mother's Refuge is a licensed maternity home with 24/7 direct care support (always two staff members) for pregnant and parenting young women between the ages of 12 and 21 years of age . We provide a safe a nurturing family home for mothers and infants during pregnancy and up to two years after a babies birth, nutritious food, clothing, access to medical care, and personal and parenting supplies. Each young women receives parenting and life skills education, transportation, mentorship, and aftercare program support after they graduate the program. Full and part-time positions available!
Current Shifts Hiring:
Thursdays & Sundays
  • Overnights 10 PM
  • 7AM Saturdays
  • 3-10 PM Wondering how much money you would make?

JOB DUTIES
Supervise the hygiene of the residents and care of their room and shared living quarters, such as the kitchen, family room, living room, and bathroom by monitoring and assisting with the completion of daily and weekly chores. Supervise the daily routines and behaviors of the residents and their babies. Administer first aid and medication, as needed (required by group home license) Enforce all house rules and regulations governing the operation of the house and the behavior for the residents, including all punishments, restrictions, etc. instituted by other staff members. Provide transportation for residents to all planned activities and any medical emergency situations. Discipline fairly, consistently, and reasonably in relationship to the individual needs and behavior of the resident under the supervision of the Program Coordinator. Corporal punishment shall not be utilized. Demonstrate proper affection, care, and responsiveness to each resident. Maintain confidentiality of all residents during and after their stay at the shelter. Keep the house in a clean and organized manner. Do deep cleaning as required. Attend staff meeting and training as required. Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Houseparent Supervisor or any member of the leadership team. Qualifications for the

Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED certificate. First Aid and CPR certificates required within 90 days of hire.
Experience:
Knowledge and experience working with teenagers, single parents, homeless, and care of newborns. General knowledge of running a household and family structure. Ability to teach/instruct others relating to necessary life skills.
Character:
Good interpersonal skills, reputable character, values, and ethical standards conducive to the well being of the population. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to pass federal fingerprints and a Child Abuse/Neglect background check. Must provide agency with three positive references by non-relatives. Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and must have current car insurance. Must be able to climb stairs, use limbs to lift at least 50 pounds, and care for infants, toddlers, and residents without assistance. We can't wait to see your application soon!
