Youth Development Professional (part-time) Greater KC LINC Inc - 3.0 Kansas City, MO Job Details Part-time $15 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Outdoor work High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Youth Development Professional supports the supervision, engagement, and safety of children participating in before and after school care programs. This role helps create a positive, inclusive, and enriching environment through recreational activities, homework support, and social-emotional development opportunities. Key Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children during program hours. Assist with planning, organizing, and leading age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and educational projects. Support students with homework and academic enrichment activities. Maintain positive behavior management practices and encourage respectful interactions among participants. Assist with attendance tracking, snack distribution, and program setup and cleanup. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff as needed. Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and child supervision guidelines. Report incidents, concerns, or behavioral issues to the Program Director or Site Coordinator. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, child development, recreation, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children and families. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Successful completion of required background checks. Physical Requirements Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and participate in recreational activities. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Preferred Skills Experience with youth programming and group activities. Conflict resolution and behavior management skills. Creativity and enthusiasm for working with school-age children. Ability to foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
