Job Description

Position Summary:
The Community Support Team Peer Support Specialist must have at least oneyear of experience with adult mental health consumers. A Peer Support Specialist must be in recovery and have completed the Peer Support certification. These professionals are responsible for assisting the Team Leader with the coordination of services across all levels of care, participating in the treatment team process, and psycho education and skill development.
Position Requirements:
One year experience working with Adult Mental health population (SPMI); IDD Services does NOT count as adult mental health High School Diploma North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification- Must be current No substantiated findings of abuse or neglect listed on the criminal background check or North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry and can not be listed on the OIG website. First Aid, CPR, Blood borne Pathogens

A Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides psychoeducation as indicated in the PCP Assists with crisis interventions Assists the Team Lead with behavioral and substance use disorder interventions Assists with the development of relapse prevention and disease management strategies Participates in the initial development, implementation, and ongoing revision of the PCP Communicates the individual's progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and interventions to the Team Lead as outlined in the PCP Provides psychoeducation and interventions as relates to the individual's PCP. Attend weekly CST staff meetings. Attend monthly individual supervision. Document individual services via EHR system within 24 hours from the date of service Provide face to face/direct client intervention 75% of the time and up to 25% indirect client intervention.
