Job Description
Job Purpose and Scope:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the shelter has a sufficient and capable pool of volunteer resources to assist staff members with the daily operations and fundraising events as well as promote the shelter and proper humane animal care and treatments at schools and events offsite. This position can be a Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs position whichever works best for the applicant. This position is classified as part-time and reports directly to the Executive director.Critical Competencies:
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Highly organized.
- Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to work with fellow staff, volunteers and the general public and adapting to each interaction.
- Strong work ethic; willing to be hands-on and assist with shelter needs.
- Computer savvy; previous experience with Volgistics system a plus.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and great attendance.
- Some cleaning and organizing will be required. We all work as a team for the animals.
- Comfortable with public speaking and public engagement.
Job Type Part-time Experience:
- Prior human resource experience a plus.
- Prior coordinator experience a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior animal handling or shelter experience needed.
