Job Description

Description Full-Time | Nashua, NH Greater Nashua Mental Health is seeking a Housing Specialist to support individuals in securing and maintaining safe, stable, and affordable housing . This role works collaboratively with clinical teams, landlords, and community partners to assist adults with serious and persistent mental illness in navigating housing resources and sustaining long-term independence. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct housing assessments and assist clients in identifying appropriate housing options.
  • Coordinate and facilitate housing opportunities through outreach and development activities.
  • Assist clients with completing housing and subsidy applications and gathering required documentation.
  • Provide outreach to landlords and property managers to expand housing opportunities.
  • Schedule and support clients with apartment viewings and housing interviews.
  • Assist clients in securing and maintaining affordable housing.
  • Conduct apartment inspections to ensure housing meets required standards.
  • Support clients in meeting lease obligations, including rent payments and maintaining their unit.
  • Provide guidance on household management, budgeting, and tenancy responsibilities.
  • Mediate landlord-tenant concerns and provide ongoing support to maintain housing stability.
  • Facilitate annual recertifications and monitor eligibility for housing subsidies.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, community agencies, and supports to prevent homelessness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of housing services, applications, and subsidy payments.
  • Connect clients to additional resources and services as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in human services, housing, or case management.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of housing subsidy programs preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professional boundaries.
