Are you passionate about supporting youth as they transition to independence? New Day is seeking a compassionate, organized, and relationship-driven Housing Coordinator to help young people exiting foster care and the juvenile justice system secure and maintain safe, stable housing. This is more than a housing role, it is an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people as they navigate adulthood and build a foundation for long-term success. What You'll Do As the Housing Coordinator, you will work directly with young people, community partners, property managers, and state agencies to support housing stability and independence.
Key responsibilities include:
Guide young people through the housing process, from program enrollment to lease signing. Help participants locate, secure, and maintain housing that meets program requirements. Build strong relationships with youth, landlords, and community partners to support housing retention. Conduct regular apartment visits to ensure safe and stable living environments while providing encouragement, resources, and problem-solving support. Coordinate rent payments and address housing barriers before they become crises. Collaborate closely with state agency partners and New Day team members to support participant success. Maintain accurate documentation and program records to meet grant and reporting requirements. Participate in housing program planning, admissions, and team meetings. What Makes You a Great Fit We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about serving young people and supporting their growth and independence. Skilled at building trust, fostering relationships, and navigating challenging situations with empathy and professionalism. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance documentation with direct client support. Comfortable working independently while collaborating as part of a team. Calm, adaptable, and able to respond effectively in crisis situations. Committed to providing culturally responsive, youth-centered services. Qualifications Must be at least 23 years old. Some college/Associate degree plus two years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree plus one year of relevant experience. Experience in social services, housing, case management, youth development, behavioral health, or a related field preferred. Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, current insurance, and a satisfactory driving record required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and basic technology. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check. Why Join New Day?
