This rewarding position involves overseeing daily living activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a warm, nurturing atmosphere for individuals with diverse needs. As a House Parent, you will be the primary caregiver and advocate, promoting independence while delivering personalized support that enhances quality of life. Responsibilities Provide direct personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' vital signs and health status regularly; recognize and respond appropriately to changes or emergencies Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and maintain detailed medication records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, employing behavior management techniques to promote safety and comfort Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with meal service in accordance with health guidelines Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing routine cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Document all care activities thoroughly; communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to ensure coordinated support Skills Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care environments, especially working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and memory care best practices; experience with behavior management strategies Ability to perform first aid and CPR; familiarity with emergency response procedures Skilled in medication administration and vital signs monitoring; proficient with EMR systems for documentation Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities Experience operating mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts; capable of assisting with ADLs safely and effectively Valid driver's license for driving residents when needed; understanding of home & community care standards This role is ideal for compassionate caregivers eager to provide impactful support within a vibrant community setting.
