Full-Time Position Summary The Overnight Youth Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of youth during overnight hours. This role requires staff to remain awake and alert at all times, monitoring residents throughout the night and responding to any emergent situations. In addition, the position supports youth in the morning routine by waking them, assisting with preparation for school, and ensuring a smooth transition into their day. Includes morning responsibilities to support youth before school Professional Development Opportunities Staff receive agency-provided training and certifications, including: Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) First Aid/CPR Ongoing professional development opportunities to strengthen skills in youth support and crisis response Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities Supervise and monitor youth during overnight hours, ensuring safety and well-being at all times Remain awake and alert throughout the shift Respond to emergencies or crises according to agency policy and procedure Complete required documentation, logs, and reports regarding overnight supervision and incidents Wake and supervise residents in the morning, ensuring they are prepared for school or daily activities Support a trauma-informed and therapeutic environment consistent with agency culture and values Maintain required certifications and attend all mandatory training sessions Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong ability to remain alert and responsive during overnight hours Ability to build respectful, supportive relationships with youth Crisis management and problem-solving skills Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment Effective communication skills across written, verbal, and electronic mediums Qualifications High School Diploma/GED (required) Valid driver's license for at least 1 year, with adequate auto insurance and ability to meet agency driving criteria (required) Ability to pass an annual physical per agency health policy (Category 2 classification) Compliance with agency safety standards and healthy work environment practices Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion We want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
