This is a non-stationary, field-based role requiring providers to work independently within the community. Contractors are responsible for managing their own schedules, travel, and service delivery in alignment with client needs and applicable Medicaid and agency guidelines. Independent Contractor Notice This role is classified as an independent contractor (1099) position, not an employee position.

Contractors:

Maintain control over their schedule and availability Provide services using their own methods and approach within professional standards Are responsible for their own transportation, expenses, and liability coverage May provide services to other organizations or clients Field-Based Requirements (Non-Stationary Role) This position is fully community-based and not office-based Services are delivered in the field, including client homes and community settings Contractors must be willing and able to travel regularly throughout the service area A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and active insurance are required Minimum Qualifications Active Peer Recovery Supporter Certification (Ohio) High School Diploma or GED Ability to pass background check and drug screening (as required for contracted services) Active NPI number, Medicaid Provider number, and CAQH profile Strong documentation and communication skills Reliable transportation (required) Scope of Services Contractors will: Provide peer recovery support services based on lived experience to assist individuals in achieving and maintaining recovery Deliver recovery education across all stages: engagement, initiation, stabilization, and maintenance Model recovery-oriented behaviors and support client-driven goal setting Assist individuals in identifying strengths, barriers, and recovery goals Support development of individualized, self-directed recovery plans Facilitate transition from professionally guided services to independent recovery maintenance Encourage and support self-advocacy, ensuring client goals remain central to service delivery Nature of Work Services are performed in the community, not at a desk or fixed location Contractors independently coordinate and conduct in-person client interactions Work involves regular travel, communication, and active engagement Why This Is Audit-Safer Removes employer-type language ("you make your own hours" → reframed professionally) Emphasizes independence, not supervision Avoids implying control over how work is done Clearly separates contractor vs employee relationship Aligns better with expectations from:
