Job Description
Make a Difference Every Day. Help People Move from Homelessness to Hope. Are you passionate about helping others and creating meaningful change in your community? Do you believe that everyone deserves safe, stable housing? The PATH Center is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Housing Navigator to join our team. This vital position supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness by providing direct advocacy, housing support, and connections to critical services. As a Housing Navigator, you will help our most vulnerable neighbors take the steps necessary to secure permanent housing, rebuild their lives, and achieve self-sufficiency.
What You'll Do:
Serve as a frontline advocate, supporting homeless individuals using a Housing First and Low Barrier approach. Build trusted relationships and collaborate with community agencies to connect clients to shelter, transportation, permanent housing, employment, and supportive services. Provide hands-on assistance with daily living needs, including hygiene, health referrals, crisis management, job readiness, and life skills. Coordinate daily shelter activities, volunteer support, and food distribution services, fostering a welcoming and dignified environment. Support the overall operation of the PATH Center Emergency Shelter and Soup Kitchen, including preparing units and maintaining a safe, clean space. Participate in fundraising efforts, community outreach, and ROMA program reporting to help ensure the long-term success of our services.What We're Looking For:
A compassionate, motivated individual who is committed to serving others without judgment. Strong communication and advocacy skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community partners. Organizational skills and adaptability in a people-centered environment. A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice or closely related degree, preferred OR any Associate's/Bachelor's Degree with demonstrated public service experience OR High School Diploma with a minimum of one (1) year demonstrated public service experience including intake, data entry, and working with high need individuals, in lieu of higher education. Must be able to lift 15 lb. minimum (ie. helping with donations) Must have a valid Ohio Drivers' License, maintain state minimum amount of automobile liability insurance, and be insurable through NOCAC's insurance carrier.
