YOUTH ADVOCATE & PET INTAKE JOB DESCRIPTION
Full time, 10 am-6 pm, 12-8 pm every other weekend Reports to: Team Lead|
Deputy Director Status:
Full-Time Position Overview The Youth Advocate & Pet Intake Specialist delivers trauma-informed, survivor-centered services to children and youth while coordinating pet intake services, aligned with ODVN and OAESV competencies. Key Responsibilities Trauma-Informed Youth Advocacy
- Provide trauma-informed advocacy and conduct needs assessments for youth.
- Facilitate support groups and promote youth empowerment. Crisis Intervention & Safety Planning
- Provide crisis intervention and assist with safety planning.
- Respond to disclosures in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Youth Program Development & Prevention Education
- Plan and implement youth education programs and prevention for the schools, in central coordination with the Outreach and Community Engagement team
- Coordinate summer programming and awareness campaigns. School & Systems Advocacy
- Serve as liaison with schools and community systems. Outreach & Community Collaboration
- Provide outreach services and build community partnerships. Cultural Responsiveness & Equity
- Deliver inclusive, culturally responsive services. Documentation, Confidentiality & Ethics
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards. Pet Intake & Care
- Ensure health and safety of pets and maintain documentation. Training & Professional Development
- Complete required training and continuing education. Qualifications Education & Experience
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required. Required Competencies
- Trauma-informed care and crisis intervention skills.
- Knowledge of child development and advocacy systems. Professional Expectations
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Perform effectively in crisis environments.
