- Residential Childcare ProgramMurrow Indian Children's Home Murrow Indian Children's Home is a Christian faith-based organization dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for Native American youth.
Through compassionate care, mentorship, and spiritual guidance, we help children and young people develop the tools they need for healthy, successful futures. We are seeking compassionate and dependable individuals or couples to serve as Houseparents in our Residential Childcare Program for children ages 5-17. Houseparents play a vital role in creating a stable, structured, and caring home environment where children can heal, grow, and thrive emotionally, spiritually, socially, and academically. Houseparents serve as positive role models while providing daily supervision, guidance, encouragement, and support to children who may have experienced trauma, neglect, or family instability. Key Responsibilities Provide daily care, supervision, and support for children residing in the cottage or residential home Create a safe, stable, structured, and nurturing family-style environment Model positive behavior, healthy communication, and Christian values Assist children with daily routines including hygiene, chores, meals, homework, and bedtime routines Provide transportation for school, medical appointments, extracurricular activities, church, and other approved activities Support children in developing healthy emotional, behavioral, and social skills Encourage academic success and assist with school-related needs Maintain appropriate discipline and behavior management consistent with program policies and trauma-informed care practices Build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries Participate in recreational, cultural, and spiritual activities with residents Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding resident progress, incidents, and daily activities Work cooperatively with case managers, therapists, medical providers, schools, and other team members Respond appropriately to crises and behavioral situations Support the Christian mission and values of Murrow Indian Children's Home Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Experience working with children or youth preferred Strong communication, leadership, and caregiving skills Ability to provide structure, consistency, and emotional support Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships Valid driver's license and ability to transport residents if needed Ability to pass background check and drug screening Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts if required Respect for and willingness to support the Christian faith-based mission of the organization Preferred Experience Experience working in residential childcare, foster care, or group home settings Experience working with trauma-informed care practices Experience supporting children with behavioral or emotional needs Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques Experience working with Native American youth or tribal communities About the Residential Childcare Program The Residential Childcare Program at Murrow Indian Children's Home provides a safe and caring environment for Native American children and youth ages 5-17 who need stability, support, and guidance.
