Crisis Intervention Specialist & CIT Coordinator - Full-Time; Mid Shift (11am - 9pm) Center for Community Resources Huntingdon, PA Must Reside in Huntingdon or Mifflin Counties!

Center for Community Resources is looking for a compassionate mental health professional to join our Huntingdon/Mifflin/Juniata team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. Crisis intervention services include telephone and mobile assessments, emergency services coordination, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, and referrals to mental health and drug and alcohol resources. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will also serve as the CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) Coordinator. Responsibilities will include program development, training coordination, and maintenance of relationships with community partners. The CIT Coordinator will serve as a point of contact with all law enforcement jurisdictions in the community to bring stability to the program. The CIT Coordinator will enhance the training of local law enforcement, first responders, and emergency dispatch officers by planning annual CIT classes for Mifflin County and the surrounding areas. The opening for this position is 11A-9P (4-10 Hour Shifts), Tuesday through Friday. All full-time staff also rotate weekend and overnight shifts on call. There is an on-call rotation of at least one week a month. The starting base salary for this position is $21.54/hr. In addition to the hourly wage, we offer an extra $0.75/hr. shift differential for any time worked 4PM-12AM and $1.50/hr. for any time worked 12AM-8AM. We also offer a possible higher salary based on experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field. With major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or related field. Must have minimum two years' experience in Criminal Justice, Crisis Intervention and/or Mental Health Case Management. Valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required.

Education:
Must have a Bachelor's degree with major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field. (Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred) or Be a registered nurse or Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience (Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred) (2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred)
Experience:
One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree. See experience requirements above for applicants without a bachelors degree.
Licenses, Certificates or Clearances:
Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances. Valid Driver's License. Car Insurance Coverage Verification.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of de-escalation techniques, computer literate, knowledge of 302/201 process, and knowledge of PA resources.
Other Factors or Requirements:
Able to exercise sound judgment. Flexibility in scheduling. Take the initiative while being cooperative and empathetic. Maintain strict confidentiality.
