Job Description
Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Peer Support Specialist and become a vital part of empowering individuals on their journey to recovery and wellness. In this role, you will leverage your lived experience and professional skills to provide compassionate support, guidance, and mentorship to those navigating behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities Offer empathetic peer support through active listening, motivational interviewing, and behavioral health coaching to individuals facing mental health or addiction challenges Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and identifying strengths to foster independence and self-advocacy Provide crisis intervention and crisis management during urgent situations, ensuring safety and appropriate escalation when necessary Collaborate with clinical teams by documenting progress and interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Mentor clients through behavioral health education, relapse prevention strategies, and social skills development Support clients in navigating community resources, housing, employment, and other social services to promote stability Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations while fostering a trusting environment for clients Experience Lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use recovery is highly valued and considered a key qualification Prior experience in crisis intervention or crisis management is preferred Background in behavioral health, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social work or related fields is advantageous Demonstrated ability to mentor others with compassion and patience Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques and behavioral health best practices is desirable Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems or similar documentation tools is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to connect authentically with diverse populations Join us in making a lasting impact by supporting individuals on their path toward recovery. Pay:
