Job Description
The Volunteer Coordinator is committed to Central Oregon Disability Support Network's values, mission, and vision; promotes the organization and performs a wide variety of volunteer coordination and community engagement initiatives, including: Recruit, support, and coordinate volunteers for CODSN programs, events, activities, and community initiatives Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, community partners, families, and stakeholders Assist with volunteer outreach and recruitment efforts throughout assigned counties and communities Coordinate volunteer scheduling, communication, and event support needs Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support to volunteers Support volunteer participation at community activities such as resource fairs, conferences, trainings, family events, and outreach opportunities Maintain volunteer records, hours, and required documentation Assist with recognizing and appreciating volunteers through communication, events, and outreach efforts Collaborate with staff to identify volunteer needs and opportunities across programs and projects Provide support with event planning, setup, coordination, and follow-up activities Follow data collection requirements Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Attend staff meetings and mandatory events annually
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Include:
Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to build positive relationships with diverse individuals and groups Strong organizational and planning skills; the ability to learn quickly and adapt to expectations Initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team environment Experience coordinating events, activities, or volunteers preferred Ability and comfort communicating with diverse audiences Cultural competency in supporting and working effectively with a wide range of families, volunteers, and community partners in diverse communities Knowledge and understanding of disability related systems or demonstration of adeptness to acquire quickly Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, email, and databases Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalismDistinguishing Characteristics:
Demonstrates proficiency in understanding CODSN's values, mission, and vision Experience with disability - such as a person experiencing disability or a parent/family member of a child experiencing disability preferred Community organizing experience working in collaboration with community partners and stakeholders Experience supporting inclusive and welcoming environments for volunteers and families Understands and uses person first or identity first language Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Working atCODSN:
This is a part-time position scheduled for approximately 15 hours per week Travel may be required for this position and work will be performed in a variety of settings including: the community (local, regional and statewide), the administrative office and the field or home office as applicable Activities and events may require working in the evening or weekend Reimbursement for eligible expenses and mileage Professional Development opportunities Cell phone allowance Family friendly environment Flexible scheduling with approval Part-Time Hourly Employee Pay Range ($22.00-$25.00 per hour depending on experience)Disclaimer:
