Opportunity for advancement Training & development Wellness resources Volunteer Coordinator (Part-Time) Star Gospel Mission is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to help recruit, engage, and support volunteers who serve alongside our ministry. This position plays a key role in building relationships with churches, businesses, schools, and community groups while ensuring volunteers have a meaningful and rewarding experience. Position Details Part-Time (20 hours per week) Non-Exempt Reports to the Development Officer Charleston, SC Key Responsibilities Recruit volunteers through churches, businesses, schools, and community organizations Coordinate volunteer inquiries, orientations, onboarding, and training Develop and maintain volunteer schedules Support volunteer engagement, appreciation, and retention efforts Build and maintain community partnerships Coordinate volunteer participation for Mission events and service projects Maintain volunteer records, databases, and participation reports Assist with volunteer-related communications and storytelling efforts Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum two years of experience in volunteer management, customer service, nonprofit operations, ministry leadership, event coordination, or a related field Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database software Valid Driver's License required Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and assist with volunteer activities and event setup Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Ability to travel occasionally between Mission facilities and events Why Join Star Gospel Mission?
