The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning, recruiting, coordinating, and managing all volunteer program activities.Essential Job Duties:
Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program. Establish a need for volunteer services with the patient, family/caregiver, and entire hospice team. Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner. Maintains current personnel files on active volunteers. Coordinate support & education meetings. Attends interdisciplinary group meetings. Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services. Participates, as needed, in the budget preparation for program development. Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities. Monitors continuous compliance with Medicare and other licensure regulations. Responsible for documenting and tracking appropriate volunteer statistical information. Ensures a minimum of 5% of the total number of patient care hours are provided by volunteers in administrative and/or direct patient care roles.Qualifications:
College degree preferred. Two years' experience of management and supervision. Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services. Understands hospice philosophy. Organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs. Manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees.
