In this role, you will use your lived experience and professional training to provide peer-led support, mentorship, and guidance to individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and behavioral health concerns. We are currently hiring for two distinct Peer Support roles (2 openings each) , offering both flexible, field-based opportunities and structured, full-time positions. Position Type #1: Billable Peer Support Specialist (Transportation-Focused) - 2 Openings This role is a billable, client-facing position , with compensation based on hours worked directly with clients in accordance with documentation and billing requirements. Position Type #2: Full-Time Peer Support Specialist (Caseload-Based) - 2 Openings This is a structured, full-time position involving ongoing support to a designated caseload of clients within an outpatient setting. Responsibilities Engage with clients using empathetic listening, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention techniques to promote recovery and stability Provide peer mentoring and support to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction-related challenges Document client interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations Respond effectively to crises or urgent situations through crisis management skills, ensuring safety for clients and staff Collaborate with clinical teams to monitor client progress and adjust support strategies accordingly Educate clients on coping skills, relapse prevention, and behavioral health strategies to foster independence Requirements Must hold an active peer specialist license through Department of Health. Lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use recovery, demonstrating resilience and insight into the recovery journey Knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health principles Experience in mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or social work is highly desirable Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and empower others Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes Excellent communication skills with an energetic and positive attitude Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, transparency, and compassion Reliable vehicle to transport clients with active car insurance and valid drivers license.
