Certified Substance Use Counselor / Program Director (Full-Time) Holistic Pathways IOP - Substance Use & Mental Health Program Antioch, CA (On-Site) About Holistic Pathways Holistic Pathways is a growing Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) focused on substance use and mental health treatment. Our mission is to provide structured, client-centered care that promotes long-term recovery, dignity, and personal growth. We are building a high-quality, compliance-driven program and are seeking a strong leader who is ready to grow with us. Position Overview We are seeking a Certified Substance Use Counselor to serve in a dual role as Program Director and Counselor . This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing daily program operations while also providing direct client care through individual and group counseling. This role requires someone who is: Clinically strong Operationally organized Comfortable in a startup environment Able to lead staff while staying involved in client care Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Executive Director (Program Oversight & Operations) Works in coordination with the Clinical Director (LMFT) for clinical oversight and supervision Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Operations Oversee daily operations of the IOP program Manage staff scheduling, coordination, and workflow Support hiring, onboarding, and staff development Ensure smooth day-to-day program execution Clinical & Counseling Provide individual and group counseling services Participate in treatment planning and case reviews Support a trauma-informed, client-centered environment Compliance & Documentation Ensure full compliance with DHCS and Joint Commission standards Monitor treatment plans, progress notes, and documentation quality Maintain audit readiness at all times Utilization Review & Insurance Support Assist with Utilization Review (UR) processes Prepare documentation for insurance authorization Coordinate with Clinical Director for peer-to-peer reviews Admissions & Client Care Participate in client intake and admissions process Support client retention and engagement Collaborate with case managers and clinical team Program Growth & Community Relations Build relationships with referral partners Represent the program professionally with families and stakeholders Support census growth and program development Required Certifications (Must Have One) CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) LAADC (Licensed Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor) SUDCC (Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor) CATC (Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor) Qualifications Minimum 5+ years experience in substance use treatment Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of DHCS regulations Experience with
KIPU EMR / EHR
