Job Description

Residential Counselor/Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Report to the counseling supervisor 2. Refer to the counseling supervisor issues that are not resolved at the counselor level 3. Coordinate with the counseling supervisor and DRP Program Analyst in matters pertaining to medical, disciplinary, and program progress 4. Notify the counseling supervisor and DRP Program Analyst of any problem/issues involving any program participant CMP 5. Make decisions regarding caseloads. 6. Provide services to caseload participants as described in the agreement 7. Conduct initial interviews of participants assigned to the caseload 8. Prepare an initial needs assessment for each participant assigned to the caseload. 9. Review and sign each services/treatment plan to indicate approval. 10. Prepare a detailed specific services/treatment plan on each participant on his/her caseload. 11. Update at the monthly case conference the participant is CMP. 12. Conduct individual, small group, and large group counseling sessions as required. 13. Review the Participant's CMP with counseling supervisor. 14. Prepare evaluation/transition plans five days prior to the participant's completion of the residential and/or aftercare phase of the program 15. Serve as a member of the casework team. 16. Any additional duties as assigned by the program director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Be at least 21 years of age and possess at a minimum a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
In addition to:
A. Three years of full-time experience of counseling duties with a criminal justice population in a substance use disorder program. B. Must have an active AOD certification by an accredited certifying organization
