CURRENT WEST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE SERVICES AND FUTURE VACANCIES AS THEY OCCUR.

Under direction and oversight of the Director of Juvenile Services, this position features highly skilled professional work performing administrative and supervisory duties related to mental health evaluation and treatment for juvenile offenders and their families. The employee is responsible for coordinating and aligning evaluations and services to achieve the best possible outcomes for youth and families on probation. The employee administrates and coordinates all treatment and assessment services provided by the Department of Juvenile Services, including contract, in-house, and community-based services. The employee is responsible for assuring accuracy, completion, and quality of contracted provider services as well as planning, developing, and implementing treatment and intervention modalities for the department. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of all therapeutic providers, including psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, interns, and other providers as they related to juvenile assessment and treatment. The employee works with professionals from other disciplines, such as attorneys, law enforcement, community providers, and government employees to meet the demands from interacting parish, state, and federal departments, agencies, and boards. Also, supervises the operation of the Juvenile Assessment Center assessment staff. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference. Valid licensure in the state of Louisiana as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing general therapy and substance abuse therapy to youth and families; and at least one (1) year of experience supervising counselors/therapists responsible for providing related treatment and evaluation.

Related education, experience, and/or professional certification(s) above and beyond the minimum qualifications will be required for consideration of an entrance salary above the minimum rate but not to exceed the listed salary range.
