Job Description

Must have CIT if not licensed in Addiction. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor in Training to join our team. This position is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the counseling field while working under the supervision of licensed professionals. The Counselor in Training will assist in providing support to clients, engage in therapeutic activities, and develop essential skills necessary for a successful career in counseling. Duties Assist licensed counselors in conducting individual and group therapy sessions. Participate in crisis management by providing immediate support to clients in distress. Support case management activities, including documentation and progress tracking. Engage clients through various therapeutic modalities such as art therapy and motivational interviewing. Collect and maintain accurate data related to client progress and treatment plans. Facilitate direct support for clients, ensuring their emotional and psychological needs are met. Collaborate with clinical staff to develop effective treatment strategies based on ICD-9 guidelines. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance counseling skills and knowledge. Requirements Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling (CIT).
MUST BE LICENSED.
Familiarity with crisis management techniques and clinical counseling practices. Experience or coursework related to case management, psychotherapy, or direct support services is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. A commitment to ethical practices and maintaining client confidentiality. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic clinical environment.
