Provide timely documentation of patient services based on plan of care. Identify physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs for assigned patients. Manage related expenditures responsibly according to budget guidelines. Assist the Program Director and Clinical Manager with administrative responsibilities and provide training to new counselors. Travel as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for counselors. Assist in orienting new staff and serve as a resource/preceptor. Provide input for evaluations of counseling staff. Participate in Clinical and Admission panels. Sign treatment plans, discharge summaries, and phase requests. Identify staff education needs and support training initiatives. Assist with chart audits and compliance monitoring. Identify risks per JCAHO and regulatory guidelines. Assist in scheduling and program organization. Maintain assigned caseload responsibilities. Support daily program operations and administrative duties. Maintain accurate and timely patient files. Coordinate care and communicate patient status with treatment teams. Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans per OTP regulations. Provide counseling services including individual sessions. Advocate for patients and coordinate with external agencies (courts, housing, social services, etc.). Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed. Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement efforts. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Manage and file drug screening (UA) results. Complete and file patient documentation and records. Coordinate with medical staff for dosing and treatment adjustments. Submit take-home medication requests. Maintain documentation standards for counseling sessions. Conduct patient intake and orientation. Prepare discharge summaries and transition plans. Handle crisis intervention when necessary. Attend staff meetings and supervision sessions. Assist in program development activities. Promote organizational goals and positive team culture. Maintain regular attendance and professional conduct. Meet company service standards. Perform all duties ethically and professionally. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum age of 18. Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with opiate addicted populations and actively working on obtaining certification/license. Substance Abuse supervisory letter (Maryland only). Ability to supervise Certified/Registered Counselors and Trainees/Interns. Maintain or be in process of obtaining State Certification/Licensure. Minimum of three years' experience in substance abuse treatment. Experience working with opiate-addicted populations. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Excellent written and oral communication skills. Skilled in assessments, ASI criteria, treatment planning, service coordination, and crisis intervention. Strong documentation and computer skills.
Knowledge of:
Local drug trends and effects on the body Signs and symptoms of overdose Psychosocial aspects of addiction Treatment processes Social service, legal, economic, and medical systems HIV transmission and behavioral implications Ability to work within a medical hierarchy and solve complex client problems. Strong time management skills. Ability to work with diverse populations and provide excellent customer service. Knowledge of State regulations and 42 CFR §8.12. Compliance with professional standards and practices. Satisfactory references. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting. Satisfactory criminal background check. Self-directed with minimal supervision. Strong observation, judgment, and documentation skills. Flexible and cooperative attitude.
Salary Range:
Salary ranges from $28.00 to $29.73 an hour. The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
