Senior Substance Use Clinician Location:
Baltimore, MD and surrounding area
Compensation CAC-AD:
$35.00•$44.00/hour
LCADC:
$40.00•$50.00/hour Additional compensation opportunities may be available based on experience, clinical leadership, and productivity Schedule Monday•Friday, daytime hours Structured schedule (final hours discussed during interview) No weekends required Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CAC-AD or LCADC clinician to join a structured substance use disorder treatment program serving adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This role is intended for clinicians who operate with a high degree of clinical independence, sound judgment, and comfort managing complex cases across multiple levels of care . The position is best suited for professionals who prefer depth of clinical work over high-volume, production-driven environments. Clinical Responsibilities Provide individual and group psychotherapy for clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders Conduct clinical assessments and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans Maintain a structured caseload of approximately 25-35 clients Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and clinical decision-making support as needed Complete accurate, timely EMR documentation (same-day preferred) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including medical providers, psychiatric staff, and peer recovery specialists Participate in case consultation, supervision, and clinical team coordination Clinical Environment Outpatient and inpatient substance use disorder treatment program Adult population with complex co-occurring psychiatric and substance use conditions Exposure to multiple levels of care within a coordinated treatment system Structured clinical team with emphasis on accountability, quality of care, and clinical autonomy Low administrative burden relative to direct clinical work Minimum Requirements (Strict) Active Maryland CAC-AD or LCADC certification (required) Demonstrated experience in substance use treatment at higher levels of care Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and clinically manage complex cases Strong clinical documentation, treatment planning, and case formulation skills
Note:
Entry-level ADT and CSC-AD candidates are not a fit for this role. Preferred Experience Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Inpatient, or Residential treatment settings Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder treatment Evidence-based modalities including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Experience with court-involved, DUI/DWI, or justice-referred populations Experience working within multidisciplinary behavioral health teams What This Role Offers High level of clinical autonomy and independent decision-making Structured caseload with emphasis on clinical quality over volume Stable weekday schedule with no weekend requirements Exposure to multiple levels of care within an integrated treatment system Collaborative, clinically experienced team environment Opportunity to focus on complex clinical work and long-term recovery outcomes How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief clinical summary outlining your experience with co-occurring disorders, treatment settings, and complex case management.
