Position:
This is a full-time Substance Abuse Counselor position as a Field Coordinator for the NC Professionals Health Program (www.ncphp.org). Field Coordinators are responsible for monitoring and supporting healthcare providers dealing with substance use disorders and other related issues. Field Coordinators meet with healthcare providers to provide compassionate support, recovery monitoring, and to coordinate care with other helping professionals and treatment facilities. The Field Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining comprehensive case documentation, participating in peer review meetings, and advocating for participants' successful recovery to various stakeholders. Our home office is in Raleigh, but we offer services across the entire state.
NOTE:
THIS JOB IS FOR THE CHARLOTTE AREA.
Duties Conduct monthly visits with program participants to evaluate their recovery status and engage in supportive counseling with participants. Collect drug screens to help provide objective verification of abstinence. Serve as a support person and provide crisis intervention and management when there is a challenge to the participant's recovery status. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law. Substance Abuse Counseling and Mental Health Counseling skills Strong communication and coordination skills to work with other professionals and treatment facilities Case management and documentation skills Ability to work independently and remotely Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus Excellent communication skills for engaging clients Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining client confidentiality.
