$55,000 Dual Licensure (LPC/LAC, LSW/LCSW, LCADC): $60,000•65,000 Position Summary We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Alcohol and Drug Counselor to provide substance abuse counseling and comprehensive case management services to assigned clients. The Counselor will conduct clinical assessments, develop individualized treatment plans using ASAM criteria, coordinate care, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments utilizing ASI and DSM criteria Determine appropriate level of care using ASAM Patient Placement Criteria Develop, monitor, and update individualized, recovery-oriented treatment plans Provide individual and group substance abuse counseling services Coordinate care with referral sources including mental health providers, criminal justice agencies, schools, and community partners Prepare discharge and transfer plans to ensure continuity of care Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic medical records Administrative & Compliance Ensure compliance with HIPAA, NJDOH-DMHAS, CARF, and agency standards Maintain confidential and organized client records Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations Contribute to quality improvement initiatives Complete required reports, documentation, and continuing education requirements Qualifications Required Minimum of 3 years' experience in substance abuse treatment Active New Jersey CADC or LCADC certification Strong knowledge of addiction counseling theory and treatment services Experience working with co-occurring and mental health disorders Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology Skills & Competencies Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to work with diverse populations Professional boundaries and ethical practice Proficiency in MS Office and Electronic Medical Records Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment Work Environment Office-based setting Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and drive as required Adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, Fire & Safety, and agency policies required Excellent Perks and Benefits for
