Per Year Description:
A Residential Counselor (CASAC) position is available in an onsite setting in Astoria, NY. This full-time role involves working day shifts from Monday to Friday with one rotating weekend day. Key responsibilities include facilitating individual and group sessions, conducting assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements:
CASAC-P, CASAC
T, or CASAC (Full) certification Organizational and communication skills for effective interaction Critical thinking and sound judgment skills Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences with 1 year of experience in drug rehabilitation Associate's degree in behavioral or social sciences with 2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment High School Diploma with 3 years of paid experience in drug rehabilitation
Qualifications:
Experience in a multidisciplinary treatment setting Ability to facilitate sessions for substance use and co-occurring disorders Skills in crisis intervention and recovery planning Experience with electronic medical records systems Knowledge of 12-step, self-help recovery services, and motivational interviewing
