Job Description
A New York City nonprofit services organization is seeking a new Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC / CASAC-T) to join their team. In this role, the Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will be responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients enrolled in the company's Mother & Child Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program. Monday toFriday Hours:
9am to 5pm Responsibilities Maintain a caseload of up to 15 clients Provide individual substance use counseling sessions Facilitate group counseling sessions on a scheduled basis Orient clients to program goals, rules, rights, and expectations Address behavioral issues, crises, and treatment barriers as they arise Complete bi‑weekly progress notes and monthly treatment plans and treatment plan reviews Maintain accurate client charts in accordance with OASAS standards Complete all documentation in NextGen EHR (100% electronic) Prepare and submit court letters, progress reports, and compliance updates Coordinate care with courts, ACS, and other collateral providers Verify and document off‑site appointments, itineraries, and weekend passes Review weekly passports and confirm client attendance and engagement Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences Coordinate with Intake, Clinical Supervisor, and other program staff Follow clinical supervision and guidance from the Clinical Supervisor of SUD Services Perform other duties, as neededQualifications:
3 years of experience in an OASAS‑regulated SUD program Bachelor's Degree NYS CASAC and/or CASAC‑T licensures Residential SUD experience Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills Excellent documentation and time‑management abilities Great interpersonal and communication skills Strong attention to detail Highly organized Ability to work under pressure and manage compliance deadlinesDesired Skills:
