Job Description

SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, delivers substance abuse treatment services to patients. Responsible for the administration, supervision, and direction of clinical activities involved in establishing a complete treatment environment.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Assists in the supervision of CASAC counselors (when assigned) and providing needed support during crisis. Senior counselors should be involved in the crisis intervention. Handles a small caseload, delivering all treatment components to assigned patients; providing both individual and group therapy. Ensures that the clients in their respective program, building or floor are supported throughout the day and works with the RSS and RSS supervisors on the day-to-day concerns. Participates in case conferences to assess patient progress, where needed; makes recommendations for changes in treatment planning and advancement to the next treatment level. Makes recommendations regarding program effectiveness and needed revisions to the program design and/or policies and procedures. Provides input for annual counselor performance evaluations for the Clinical Supervisor's and/or Program Director's review. Teach and train staff in the clinical aspects of a treatment, rendering individual training whenever necessary, while observing staff performance in actual treatment situations. Assist with the oversight of the CASAC intern program and training and onboarding. Medication monitoring

REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED Bachelors preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Independent license issued by NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing, preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum three years of experience working with the substance use disorder population Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory role
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
